Cough Suppressant, Nasal Decongestant Uses Temporarily relieves: cough, nasal congestion due to the common cold. Directions To open: Lightly squeeze both tabs located on each side of the neck of the bottle and turn the cap at the same time. To close: Screw the cap back on (without squeezing the tabs) until it clicks. Use teaspoon (tsp), tablespoon (TBSP) or dose cup. Under 6 yrs: Ask a doctor. 6-11 yrs: 1 1/2 tsp. or 7 1/2 mL. 12 yrs & older: 1 TBSP or 3 tsp or 15 mL. Repeat every 6 hours, not to exceed 4 doses per day. Warnings Do not use if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Ask a doctor before use if you have: heart disease, asthma, emphysema, thyroid disease, diabetes, cough associated with smoking, high blood pressure, excessive phlegm (mucus), persistent or chronic cough, trouble urinating due to enlarged prostate gland. Stop use and ask a doctor if: you need to use more than 7 days; symptoms do not get better; you get nervous, dizzy or sleepless; cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or headache that lasts. These could be signs of a serious condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
